Justice Caroline D. Glassman collection, ca. 1940-2007 (bulk 1983-2007).

The collection contains a 1983 scrapbook documenting Glassman's nomination to Maine's Supreme Judicial Court by Governor Joseph E. Brennan, her appointment, and swearing in celebrations. Contents include newspaper clippings; personal data documents, photographs, and official and personal congratulatory messages. Also included in the collection: biographical information; official and candid photographs; correspondence; invitations; speeches; documents regarding her reappointment to the Supreme Court; and honors including Deborah Morton Award given by the Deborah Morton Society (University of New England, formerly Westbrook College), and honorary degrees from Bowdoin College, Husson College, Willamette University, and the University of New England. Other articles and notes regarding the Maine State Bar Association Caroline Duby Glassman Award, the University of Maine School of Law Justice Harry Glassman Scholarship, and her 1997 retirement from the Supreme Court are included.
